Frequently Asked Dental Questions
Choosing a new dental office for you and your family is a big decision. We want to help you know whether Neil W Vanik, DDS PA is the right fit for you. That’s why we’ve provided the answers to some of the most common questions that we’ve been asked in the past. If you have other questions, feel free to call us!
Do you treat children?
Absolutely! We are a family-friendly dental office and enjoy helping patients of all ages keep their smiles happy and healthy. We have several services that are particularly helpful for children, such as fluoride treatments. Our goal is to ensure a positive dental visit for every child -- whether that is best served at our dental office or a trusted pediatric specialist -- your child's health and comfort is our top priority.
What cosmetic services do you offer?
We provide treatments that can meet many cosmetic needs, including porcelain veneers, at-home whitening, and Invisalign. Schedule a consultation with one of our dentists, and they can help you determine which will give you the results you’re looking for!
Do I really need to see the dentist twice every year?
Other than daily oral care, these routine visits are critical to keeping your smile healthy for the long term. You can easily miss plaque buildup in difficult-to-reach places, which is why we provide a thorough dental cleaning. Your checkup ensures that you can get the treatment you need right away if you have an oral problem. Otherwise, it could get much worse, cause you pain, and be more expensive to fix later.
Do root canals hurt?
Although root canals have a bad reputation, they are actually procedures that save teeth that otherwise would have to be extracted completely. You may experience pain before a root canal because of an infection, but the root canal therapy itself will involve the same level of discomfort as getting a filling. Our dentists practice with a gentle touch and will make sure that you’re completely comfortable throughout the procedure.
Do you place and restore dental implants?
Although we do not handle the placement of dental implants, we can refer you to surgical experts in the area who have the same high standards of care that we do. Once you have fully healed, you can return to our dental office to get your custom, lifelike restoration to completely rebuild your smile after tooth loss.
What kind of restoration can fix my damaged/decayed tooth?
At Neil W Vanik, DDS PA, we offer many restorative treatments that can salvage your tooth and bring back its former strength, function, health, and beauty. Whether you need a crown, bridge, or dental implant, we can help you rebuild your smile after trauma or infection.
Are you in-network with my dental insurance?
We accept many insurance plans and are in-network with several common PPO plans. Call to check if we take your specific insurance!
